What Do Artists Earn Online?

Okay, ready to have your mind blown? Here's an infographic that describes just how much you have to sell to earn the US monthly minimum wage of $1,160. On the right is the percentage of sale that you actually make. The graphic comes from informationisbeautiful.net.

What's the meaning with this, trying to convince people to start buying CD:s again?

Don't about other artists, but we get the same amount of money from Spotify when someone play an album with 10 songs 30 times, as from selling one album via our previous record company (about 1.5 US$).

Think that's pretty fair, isn't it?

I'm not saying it's fair or unfair, Jonas. Just that it takes a lot more of everything to make up for a single CD sale. One isn't better than another. If fans like your music, they'll consume it one way or another.
